One Crayon Color Challenge Reveal!

My favorite color as a child was bittersweet orange.  Sally Russick of The Studio Sublime came up with idea for a blog hop/challenge just using one color (and its various hues) from a basic crayon box.



I managed to finish two bracelets and a necklace.  The top bracelet is a right angle weave orange seed beads embellished with 3mm cubes in shades of orange.   The necklace is done with orange cat eye beads, fire opal crystals, adventurine, and ice beads in shades of orange.  The second bracelet is a leather wrapped, copper bangle which used up most of the leftover beads.  This was a lot of fun!

    Beautiful work! All those orange hues are so lovely, the leather wrapped bracelet makes me think of orbiting suns! I especially love the right angle weave bracelet, I never know what to do with those square beads, the bracelet is lovely and I would love to wear it while hopping around the blogs!!! :)

    I love all three pieces they are gorgeous! The RAW bracelet is awesome and so is the leather wrapped bracelet, but my favorite is the necklace it is beautiful!

    Those are all lovely. The beadwork in the first one is awesome. I really like the chunkiness in the necklace. It looks like it would be so much fun to wear. Using the left over beads in the bracelet was smart and produced another wonderful piece. :)

    Renetha, you really had a wondeful creative streak going on! I cannot imagine making anything beyond that right angle weave bracelet, as it looks as if it must have taken a very long time - wow!!! It really boggles my mind when I see seed bead work like this. And I especially love the wrapped leather bangle - that is really pretty and so perfect to wear all summer long. :-)

    I missed your first bracelet in the first pass, until you mentioned right angle weave in your write up, then went back and looked. It's really fun how you used the square beads for embellishment - made me think of patchwoork.

Between my mother's surgery and recovery, the shower valve's constant drip, keeping my A1C levels down, and taking classes in creating with precious metal clay, I am well and truly stressed out. However, I did manage to at least finish the pendant, even though I will probably redo it sometime in the future. The bead(s) my partner Shai sent are unique and in some of my favorite color to work with--copper with bronze tones. BSBP#8: The Big Reveal

Right to the good stuff..... Made with Rhonda's beaded bead, crystals, and agate rondelles. Made with Rhonda's (she made it) clasp and lampwork focal. Bracelet made with brown rainbow bugle beads supplied by Rhonda. Bracelet is based on a tutorial, Toskana by SeeBead .  I used Czech twins instead of tila or tile beads.  I didn't have enough tile beads so the twins made a wonderful substitution. Soup I started with. 6th Bead Soup Blog Party, Part One

There were almost 400 participants signed up for this challenge, so Lori Anderson, Pretty Things, created 3 reveal dates.  The first party starts today, 28 July 2012!  I am so excited.  New blogs to visit and not enough hours to get to them all.  Be sure to stop by the blog of my Bead Soup Blog Party partner, Stacy Alderson .  I can't wait to see what she made with the bead soup I sent to her. Here is what I made with some of the ingredients from the bead soup I received from Stacy: The focal bead is so beautiful, that almost any color would work with it, so I used the jet picasso seed beads from the soup and some of my own seed beads in a champagne color.
