About a week ago I noticed an bird nest in a small tree in our front yard. I pass it every day on my way to the mailbox. A few days ago as I passed the tree, I noticed a flash of blue. Lo and behold, it was a robin's egg! I was so excited, I got the camera out and took a picture.
The next day, I noticed a robin sitting in the nest! Mom Robin is on the job, but she flies away everytime someone opens the front door. But I was diligent and managed to capture a pic of the new mom.
I researched robins and discovered that the female lays one egg per day. She may end up with four in her clutch. So I checked the next day, but no other eggs. However, today is full of suprises.......now there are two!
I now feel like a nature photographer. I love macro and telephoto lenses! I hope to get photos of chicks in a few weeks.
