I just want to say thank you Bello Modo for hosting the challenges. I look forward to participating in more challenges.

Bello Modo announced its winners for their Radiant Orchard Challenge. I did manage to finish this piece for the challenge:

However, I didn't win the main prizes, but I did win a secondary prize goody bag for my use of Czechmates!

This was made with Czech mates 2-hole tiles, Toho Takumi's, Swarovski crystal rose satin and purple haze crystals, and Vintaj dragonfly charms. The focal is a lampwork bead, by my friend and fellow beader Carolyn Harmon (MVLBA). I love her beads!

The closest to Radiant Orchid I had in my stash were the Takumi's color called dragonfruit. They brought out the color of the art bead.

I won 3rd place in the Bello Modo Takumi Summer Challenge. I love to complete challenges because it focuses my designs--rather than beading for the sake of beading. Not that I don't do a lot of that anyway.

BSBP#8: The Big Reveal

Right to the good stuff..... Made with Rhonda's beaded bead, crystals, and agate rondelles. Made with Rhonda's (she made it) clasp and lampwork focal. Bracelet made with brown rainbow bugle beads supplied by Rhonda. Bracelet is based on a tutorial, Toskana by SeeBead . I used Czech twins instead of tila or tile beads. I didn't have enough tile beads so the twins made a wonderful substitution. Soup I started with. Thank you Lori for hosting a wonderful 8th swap and blog hop! Problem: Northridge Publishing Company (Bead Trends Magazine)

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ I was a long time reader of Bead Trends Magazine . It was a publication filled with beautiful handmade jewelry and inspiration. But now the not so beautiful side to Northridge Publishing Company. Bead Trends last issue was for July. I don't know about anyone else, but Northridge Publishing Company did not notify me that the magazine would no longer be published. I used my credit card to set up monthly transactions for the magazine. Evidence of Bead Trends disappeared from all social media outlets. So I went to the website and deleted my credit card information. Charges continued to show up on my statement for August, September, and October. If a charge shows up for November....... I contacted Northridge Publishing Company several times via their chat room. No response. I sent two emails. Finally today, I received an email from their customer service. 2019 Bead Peeps Swap & Hop Reveal!

To my Peeps: I think as I get older, sickness lasts longer. Everyone is better now and down to sniffles. On to the good stuff. My partner for this years' Swap & Hop was Dain Schlegel of Dainty Designs. However, she is recovering from a surgery and wasn't able to get beads to me. I hope she gets better soon. So Linda Anderson set me up with an Angel. Krafty Max sent me a whole lot of beads. Beads on strings, beads in tubes, stone cabochons, fused glass pendants, and Czech beads, rounds, and crystals. Although, I didn't use all of the beads, I did manage to put together a few pendants and UFOs. The pendant above is one of the stones I worked with.
