Bead Hoarders Swap'n Hop Partner Reveal!

Fun Stripes V (Etsy Set 016)
Borrowed Etsy Picture of Golem Beads
Lori McDaniel Anderson of the Pretty Things blog andBead Soup Cafe (Facebook) is hosting the Bead Hoarders Swap this year!  I love her Bead Soup Swap Parties!  This year's challenge was to send our partner a bead or beads that we have hoarded...and nothing else but a letter.  A letter detailing any details of why this bead was hoarded.

My partner this year is Shai Williams of the Shaiha's Ramblings blog.  She is from Tacoma, Washington and her jewelry designs are available in her shop--Shaiha's Designs.  The picture above is my favorite and only set of striped Golem beads.  I have been hoarding them for several years and they are now in Shaiha's creative hands-- along with some other stuff. I love and miss those beads, their color, how they look and feel.

The Bead Hoarders package from Shai arrived in yesterday's mail!

I see earrings!

Copper lampwork bead split into 3!
STAY TUNED FOR THE FINAL DESIGN REVEAL MARCH 25th!

BSBP#8: The Big Reveal

Right to the good stuff..... Made with Rhonda's beaded bead, crystals, and agate rondelles. Made with Rhonda's (she made it) clasp and lampwork focal. Bracelet made with brown rainbow bugle beads supplied by Rhonda. Bracelet is based on a tutorial, Toskana by SeeBead .  I used Czech twins instead of tila or tile beads.  I didn't have enough tile beads so the twins made a wonderful substitution. Soup I started with. Thank you Lori for hosting a wonderful 8th swap and blog hop!  Thank you Rhonda for a most enjoyable soup!  To see other simmering soups and creations visit the BSBP blog for the list of participants (about 500)! Problem: Northridge Publishing Company (Bead Trends Magazine)

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ I was a long time reader of Bead Trends Magazine .  It was a publication filled with beautiful handmade jewelry and inspiration.  But now the not so beautiful side to Northridge Publishing Company.   Bead Trends last issue was for July.  I don't know about anyone else, but Northridge Publishing Company did not notify me that the magazine would no longer be published. I used my credit card to set up monthly transactions for the magazine. Evidence of Bead Trends disappeared from all social media outlets.  So I went to the website and deleted my credit card information.  Charges continued to show up on my statement for August, September, and October.  If a charge shows up for November....... I contacted Northridge Publishing Company several times via their chat room.  No response.  I sent two emails.  Finally today, I received an email from their customer service. 7th Bead Soup Blog Party: 1st Reveal!!!

Here is a pic of my final design for the 7th Bead Soup Blog Party , hosted by Lori Anderson of Pretty Things.  It was a lot of fun, and I still have about 50% of party goer blogs to visit. Last minute additions:  Working with leftover soup!  Bracelet made with gorgeous teal agates.  I love the clasp.  I didn't know it was a clasp until it stuck to some metal chain.  Investigating further, I found it was a magnetic clasp.  How cool is that?  Jayashree sent me a wonderful soup.  Believe it or not, I still have more soup!  Stay tuned for more. Now, what to do with the brass stampings..... Just added a few swarovski pearls and walla!  Dangle earrings! Now it is time for me to show off some of what I made with the bead soup from Jayashree Paramesh, Nchantme . The funny thing is, I am not done yet.  I have soup leftover.  I will post more, if I have time. Don't forget to stop by Jayashree...
