Octoberfest Update!

Autumn-Inspired Challenge Update!

In addition to the challenge, there was also a drawing for several bead related prizes.  Guess what?  I won!  How cool is that?  This prize is something I will definitely be using soon.

Toltec Jewels of Jewel School Friends, is hosted an autumn- inspired challenge!

*Create an Autumn Inspired Treat!
*Make a Fall craft.
*Create a cool bead.
*Design Halloween jewelry.
*Design Autumnal jewelry.
*Decorate your home or yard.
*Write a poem, dance or sing.

I decided to made a pair of earrings, specifically mismatched earrings.  I have been hooked on mismatched earrings since Diana’s challenge (Suburban GirlStudio).  Although our family doesn’t celebrate Halloween, someone may want a pair of Halloween earrings designed by me.  It could happen.  The skulls are dyed howlite, lampies by DFJ Lampwork (Ebay) and unfortunately, I don't remember where I got the black lampwork disks for the party hats.  I also used swarovski crystals and czech rondelles.  Here are my October Fest earrings:

BSBP Bead Hoarders Edition Blog & Pinterest Hop

Between my mother's surgery and recovery, the shower valve's constant drip, keeping my A1C levels down, and taking classes in creating with precious metal clay, I am well and truly stressed out. However, I did manage to at least finish the pendant, even though I will probably redo it sometime in the future. The bead(s) my partner Shai sent are unique and in some of my favorite color to work with--copper with bronze tones. You can tell the piece was rushed a bit.  I plan to make a Kumihimo rope to finish the design. I also quickly made a pair of earrings from the ceramic beads. Thank you Lori for hosting the BSBP again!  The link to list of participants is below. http://www.prettythingsblog.com/2017/03/welcome-to-bead-soup-blog-party-bead.html

BSBP#8: The Big Reveal

Right to the good stuff..... Made with Rhonda's beaded bead, crystals, and agate rondelles. Made with Rhonda's (she made it) clasp and lampwork focal. Bracelet made with brown rainbow bugle beads supplied by Rhonda. Bracelet is based on a tutorial, Toskana by SeeBead .  I used Czech twins instead of tila or tile beads.  I didn't have enough tile beads so the twins made a wonderful substitution. Soup I started with. Thank you Lori for hosting a wonderful 8th swap and blog hop!  Thank you Rhonda for a most enjoyable soup!  To see other simmering soups and creations visit the BSBP blog for the list of participants (about 500)! 6th Bead Soup Blog Party, Part One

There were almost 400 participants signed up for this challenge, so Lori Anderson, Pretty Things, created 3 reveal dates.  The first party starts today, 28 July 2012!  I am so excited.  New blogs to visit and not enough hours to get to them all.  Be sure to stop by the blog of my Bead Soup Blog Party partner, Stacy Alderson .  I can't wait to see what she made with the bead soup I sent to her. Here is what I made with some of the ingredients from the bead soup I received from Stacy: The focal bead is so beautiful, that almost any color would work with it, so I used the jet picasso seed beads from the soup and some of my own seed beads in a champagne color. This was also my first attempt at making a spiral rope.  Here is a list of participants in today's reveal: Hostess, Lori Anderson, PrettyThingsBlog.com Alice Craddick, Alice's Beads and Baubles Alicia Marinache, All The Pretty Things Amanda Tibbetts, Amanda Made Amber Dawn Gold...
