AJE Earring Challenge: Weeks 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20......

Art Jewelry Elements  is hosting a wonderful earring challenge.  The challenge is to make a pair of earr ings a week.  Once again, I am behind on my projects.  My oldest son had kidney problems when he was a toddler, and the problem back.  Not bad, just back with many appointments with specialists.  My middle son's fall 2012 football injury to his elbow--not healing/growing the way it should.  Surgery in two weeks.  My youngest is having trouble sleeping more than 4 hours a night.  He has CP, which means I or my husband have to stay up with him until he decides to fall asleep.  Last, but not least, the doctors determined that my mom has some internal bleeding--more tests and specialists.  Now, she is waiting to hear back from the doctors (as am I).  Can you say stressful summer ahead for the Stanzianos? Well, back to earrings. WEEK 19, Bead Artist, Jill Carter Rabbit Hutch Beads Week 20, Porcelain Charm, ...

Talk About Perfect Matches!

One of my favorite beaded jewelry designers, Nancy Dale, posted this beautiful Design Seeds pallet.  I just happened to receive a few beads in the mail today.  Specifically, some beautiful green jade.  However, this particular jade is not just green.  It has several of the colors of this pallet. These beads are custom cut by Waly-Beads (Ebay).  What do you think Nancy?

5th Do Over Wrap Up

There were so many fantastic designs created for the 5th Do Over Challenge .  I didn't see a design I didn't like in some way.  So many designs and so many more ideas to incorporate into my own designs.  Thank you Jeannie for a creative and inspiring challenge! There was only one blog I could not get to and that was for Mowse Doyle.  Apparently blogger said I had to be invited to view their blog.  I can say I never had that happen before.   I used what I had leftover and made a simple bracelet above.

5th Do Over Challenge Reveal!

Jeannie K. Dukic sent each participant an old, tried, boring piece of my jewelry for  free  and you will work your magic and turn it into something beautiful and amazing.  T he jewelry she sent out for this challenge are designs made when she was new to jewelry-making and won’t sell.   Well she could, but she believes no one would buy them.  This is NOT jewelry currently listed on her website!  There will be no art beads of any kind in what you receive, and i t will not be in any fancy packaging when you receive it. Yeah....no fancy packaging here. There is no guarantee that participants will even like the jewelry they receive for this challenge.  Remember, this is just a challenge and the goal is to have fun with the jewelry make-over!  Here is what I received: A gold chain with crystals, and gemstones and earrings to match.  The owl charm was part of the "nothing fancy" packaging.  I can't say that I liked the necklace, ...

Art Bead Scene: April 2013 Challenge Inspiration--Painting by Claude Monet

Walk in The Meadows at Argenteuil, 1873 Claude Monet Oil on Canvas, 54.5cm x 64.5cm Private Collection Monet is one of my favorite artists.  His art made an  impression  on me during my college years.  I most admire the fact that he continued to paint as his eyesight was failing.  You can see his art progress from clear impressionist expression and light colors to darker, blurred and use of brighter colors.  Especially seen in his garden series.  Simply amazing. This month's Art Bead Scene challenge pallet is full of wonderful spring-like colors.  It was hard to chose just a few to work with.  However, I went through my bead stash and found a wonderful focal bead by Alexandra95062 .  She sells her beads (Ebay) in sets and none of them are the same color.  The bead I chose looks like someone swirled their fingers through the wet paint of challenge colors!  I just added a spiral rope using some bead soup which h...

7th Bead Soup Blog Party: 1st Reveal!!!

Here is a pic of my final design for the 7th Bead Soup Blog Party , hosted by Lori Anderson of Pretty Things.  It was a lot of fun, and I still have about 50% of party goer blogs to visit. Last minute additions:  Working with leftover soup!  Bracelet made with gorgeous teal agates.  I love the clasp.  I didn't know it was a clasp until it stuck to some metal chain.  Investigating further, I found it was a magnetic clasp.  How cool is that?  Jayashree sent me a wonderful soup.  Believe it or not, I still have more soup!  Stay tuned for more. Now, what to do with the brass stampings..... Just added a few swarovski pearls and walla!  Dangle earrings! Now it is time for me to show off some of what I made with the bead soup from Jayashree Paramesh, Nchantme . The funny thing is, I am not done yet.  I have soup leftover.  I will post more, if I have time. Don't forget to stop by Jayashree...
