AJE Earring Challenge: Week 3 & 4

Although I am not happy with Week 3, I absolutely love Week 4.  I love dangles.  Week 3 was made with antique gold findings and lampwork beads by Carolyn Harman of the Miami Valley Lampwork Bead Artists.  Week 4 was made using gunmetal findings and more lampwork beads by Carolyn Harman.  I will probably be using a lot of her beads, especially since she started making tiny lampwork beads perfect for earrings.  I am fortunate that she s my friend, and she also attends open bead night at my favorite bead shop STASH and she brings her new stuff to sell at the shop.  I love showcasing local artists in my beadwork and jewelry making.  If you are in the Ohio area and have beads or other handmade findings that you sell, leave a comment below.  Now onto week 3 and 4 of the Year of Jewelry challenge.

Don't forget to check out my post on the Art Bead Love Chain Giveaway!  Drawing is tomorrow!

  1. I like the week 3 earrings Renetha. What is it you don't like about them?

    1. In the pic the earrings are kind of crooked and the end caps don't sit perfectly. But that's just perfectionist in me.

BSBP Bead Hoarders Edition Blog & Pinterest Hop

Between my mother's surgery and recovery, the shower valve's constant drip, keeping my A1C levels down, and taking classes in creating with precious metal clay, I am well and truly stressed out. However, I did manage to at least finish the pendant, even though I will probably redo it sometime in the future. The bead(s) my partner Shai sent are unique and in some of my favorite color to work with--copper with bronze tones. You can tell the piece was rushed a bit.  I plan to make a Kumihimo rope to finish the design. I also quickly made a pair of earrings from the ceramic beads. Thank you Lori for hosting the BSBP again!  The link to list of participants is below. http://www.prettythingsblog.com/2017/03/welcome-to-bead-soup-blog-party-bead.html

BSBP#8: The Big Reveal

Right to the good stuff..... Made with Rhonda's beaded bead, crystals, and agate rondelles. Made with Rhonda's (she made it) clasp and lampwork focal. Bracelet made with brown rainbow bugle beads supplied by Rhonda. Bracelet is based on a tutorial, Toskana by SeeBead .  I used Czech twins instead of tila or tile beads.  I didn't have enough tile beads so the twins made a wonderful substitution. Soup I started with. Thank you Lori for hosting a wonderful 8th swap and blog hop!  Thank you Rhonda for a most enjoyable soup!  To see other simmering soups and creations visit the BSBP blog for the list of participants (about 500)! 6th Bead Soup Blog Party, Part One

There were almost 400 participants signed up for this challenge, so Lori Anderson, Pretty Things, created 3 reveal dates.  The first party starts today, 28 July 2012!  I am so excited.  New blogs to visit and not enough hours to get to them all.  Be sure to stop by the blog of my Bead Soup Blog Party partner, Stacy Alderson .  I can't wait to see what she made with the bead soup I sent to her. Here is what I made with some of the ingredients from the bead soup I received from Stacy: The focal bead is so beautiful, that almost any color would work with it, so I used the jet picasso seed beads from the soup and some of my own seed beads in a champagne color. This was also my first attempt at making a spiral rope.  Here is a list of participants in today's reveal: Hostess, Lori Anderson, PrettyThingsBlog.com Alice Craddick, Alice's Beads and Baubles Alicia Marinache, All The Pretty Things Amanda Tibbetts, Amanda Made Amber Dawn Gold...
