Art Bead Love Chain--Coming My Way!

After months of following the Art Bead Love chain from blog to blog, I just received word from the previous holder of the chain, Lori Bowring Michaud of Artfully Ornamental, that the Art Bead Love Tour chain is headed my way.  I am so excited and can't wait to see all of that beady goodness!

The Art Bead Love Tour is an ongoing project to spread the love of handmade to new and exciting places.  It’s a way to reach people who may have never stumbled upon our blog on their own, and give them a chance to share the love of handmade.  We chose to use a chain to link beads as a symbol of  how this project links us all together~ in our unity to stand behind handmade.
Bead artists have filled one and a half feet of chain with handmade beads, charms and pendants, donated by our own Love My Art Jewelry Group.  There are 60 beads on this chain, worth approximately $450.  It includes ceramic, glass, polymer, various metals and metal clay beads.  It’s a true tribute to handmade in all its beady glory!  These beads are ready to go on tour…….the Art Bead Love Tour!  This tour is basically an art bead swap, which will go on and on and on.

Once I receive the Art Bead Love chain, I will have the raffle for the next person to win the chain.

So stay tuned for your chance to be a holder of the chain!

BSBP#8: The Big Reveal

Right to the good stuff..... Made with Rhonda's beaded bead, crystals, and agate rondelles. Made with Rhonda's (she made it) clasp and lampwork focal. Bracelet made with brown rainbow bugle beads supplied by Rhonda. Bracelet is based on a tutorial, Toskana by SeeBead .  I used Czech twins instead of tila or tile beads.  I didn't have enough tile beads so the twins made a wonderful substitution. Soup I started with. Thank you Lori for hosting a wonderful 8th swap and blog hop!  Thank you Rhonda for a most enjoyable soup!  To see other simmering soups and creations visit the BSBP blog for the list of participants (about 500)! Problem: Northridge Publishing Company (Bead Trends Magazine)

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ I was a long time reader of Bead Trends Magazine .  It was a publication filled with beautiful handmade jewelry and inspiration.  But now the not so beautiful side to Northridge Publishing Company.   Bead Trends last issue was for July.  I don't know about anyone else, but Northridge Publishing Company did not notify me that the magazine would no longer be published. I used my credit card to set up monthly transactions for the magazine. Evidence of Bead Trends disappeared from all social media outlets.  So I went to the website and deleted my credit card information.  Charges continued to show up on my statement for August, September, and October.  If a charge shows up for November....... I contacted Northridge Publishing Company several times via their chat room.  No response.  I sent two emails.  Finally today, I received an email from their customer service. 7th Bead Soup Blog Party: 1st Reveal!!!

Here is a pic of my final design for the 7th Bead Soup Blog Party , hosted by Lori Anderson of Pretty Things.  It was a lot of fun, and I still have about 50% of party goer blogs to visit. Last minute additions:  Working with leftover soup!  Bracelet made with gorgeous teal agates.  I love the clasp.  I didn't know it was a clasp until it stuck to some metal chain.  Investigating further, I found it was a magnetic clasp.  How cool is that?  Jayashree sent me a wonderful soup.  Believe it or not, I still have more soup!  Stay tuned for more. Now, what to do with the brass stampings..... Just added a few swarovski pearls and walla!  Dangle earrings! Now it is time for me to show off some of what I made with the bead soup from Jayashree Paramesh, Nchantme . The funny thing is, I am not done yet.  I have soup leftover.  I will post more, if I have time. Don't forget to stop by Jayashree...
